Knife Buying Questions

Quick answers before you choose your knife
What is the difference between Damascus and stainless steel knives? Our Damascus blades are made from layered 1095 and 15N20 carbon steel, which creates the flowing pattern you see on the blade. Damascus holds a keen edge but needs to be dried and lightly oiled to prevent rust. Our stainless steel blades (D2, 440C and spring steel) resist rust and need less upkeep, which makes them a good choice for hard use and wet conditions.
How do I care for a Damascus steel knife?Wipe the blade clean and dry after every use, then apply a light coat of oil. Do not put it in the dishwasher, and avoid storing it long term inside a leather sheath, since leather can hold moisture. See our free knife care guide for more tips.
Does my knife come with a sheath? Each listing shows exactly what is included in its specs. Most of our fixed blade knives come with a leather sheath, and most pocket knives come with a leather case.
Will my knife handle look exactly like the photo?Natural handle materials such as antler, bone, horn and wood each have their own grain and color, and every handle is fitted by hand, so each knife is one of a kind.
Can I get a knife engraved?Yes. We offer custom engraving for gifts, groomsmen and corporate orders. Visit our custom engraving page or look for knives marked Great for Engraving.
What is the best knife for hunting? For hunting, choose a fixed blade knife with a secure grip. Our hunting knives are 11 inches or longer overall for field dressing and camp work, and our skinners have a curved blade made for removing hide cleanly.
How much does shipping cost?Orders shipped within the United States go by USPS Priority Mail for a flat $9, which usually arrives 2 to 3 days after the knife ships. Local pickup is also available in our area of East Texas (ZIP code 75766).
What is your return policy? You can return a knife within 30 days of delivery. We pay return shipping if the knife is defective, and you pay return shipping if you change your mind. Custom and engraved knives are final sale. Every knife has a 1-year warranty against defects in our workmanship. See our Returns & Warranty page for details.
